Curriculum Highlights

  • Ohio’s Early Learning Standards guide the preschool curriculum and classroom activities. 
  • Highscope Curriculum creates a diverse and engaging learning environment for all preschoolers  
  • Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Curriculum and Fundations curriculums support early literacy development
  • Social-emotional development (self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness and relationship skills) includes the use of the Zones of Regulation curriculum.

In addition to the curriculum provided to all children, services are differentiated to meet the unique needs of the children, including

  • Visual schedules to help children understand what their day will entail;
  • Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to help children understand the expectations of preschool, teach those expectations, acknowledge and reinforce them;
  • Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy for students who have these services on their Individualized Educational Programs (IEP). These services may be provided within the classroom activities, or in individualized sessions
  • Coordination with staff from Bexley’s elementary schools for when children are ready to transition to kindergarten;

Montrose Preschool helpful links

Cost

The Montrose preschool cost for peer models is $185 per month (9 months a year.)  There is no cost for students who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
